A very special thank you to all of you who uphold this ministry in prayer and financial support as we come to the close of another year. MTM is a faith based ministry and it is only because of your ongoing support that MTM can continue to disciple and train native church leaders as a means to reach the unreached for Christ of this world.

MTM has just completed two conferences back to back in Andrah Pradesh state of India. Most every day from November 28th to December 14th the MTM ministry team was teaching a leadership conference as well as traveling to remote villages and preaching the gospel and encouraging the Christians who are in these remote tribal villages. Some of these remote tribal villages are unreached for the gospel. Evangelist meetings were impromptu as these village folks would come together to see these white people who were the first to ever come to their village. At one village the question was ask if they ever heard the name of Jesus. All the children responded that they never heard the name of Jesus. One adult said they heard the name before but had no idea who Jesus is. What a privilege to be the first ones to preach the gospel to the unreached tribal people of this village. At another remote tribal village we assisted the native local pastor in a baptism. We walked through rice fields as well as down a small mountain path to a spring fed stream. The processional included a small group of believers as well as village folks and the MTM ministry team. What a joy to get into the mountain spring fed stream and help the local missionary pastor baptize 12 new believers. At the Chinthaluru village pastors conference there were 200 attendees. Most all of them are laboring to take the gospel to these remote tribal villages. This is what MTM is all about.

Click Here For The Chintaluru Ministry Picture Link

After the conference at Chintaluru MTM traveled to Hyderabad and on to Ieeja village where MTM conducted another pastorals leadership conference. This conference was a partnership with Good Life Ministries (GLM) and Sam & Becca Gunti. Our average attendance was 300 church leaders. Two different evenings after the days teaching at the conference we traveled to a distant village where we conducted evangelistic meetings. This was the first time Good Life Ministries conducted evangelistic meetings at this village. The attendance of these village folks and the hunger for the gospel message was a tremendous blessing. They sat out in the cold under the big tent cross legged on the ground until midnight to hear the gospel message preached. The response to the gospel message was truly overwhelming. In two different services in the same village there were 122 first time commitments to Jesus Christ. Blessed be God !!!

Click Here For The Hyderabad Ministry Picture Link

The year of 2013 was another tremendous year for MTM … Blessed be God !!! MTM facilitated 9 different pastoral leadership conferences in the countries of Vietnam, Egypt, Nepal, India & Myanmar (Burma). The average attendance per conference was approximately 125 leaders. MTM helps the native coordinators with the expenses of these conferences. This includes bus fares for the attendees to attend the conference. If we would not assist with these expenses most all the leaders could not attend the conferences. They do not own cars or motorcycles. Most do not even own a bicycle. These costs also include the expenses for the food, tea and snacks for the duration of the conference. The average cost per conference for these expenses for 2013 was $2630.00. We are overwhelmed with gratefulness to our blessed God as well as you our faithful supporters. MTM was blessed with more than sufficient funds to facilitate all these conferences expenses.

Looking ahead to 2014. The years schedule is already fully packed out with 10 different conferences scheduled. But still there remain more un-accommodated request than those which are accommodated. Merle & Judy Flory have come on the MTM team as full time staff serving in the role of assistant director. The first part of the new year Merle will be in training as he travels with Raymond to the many different conferences serving as a teacher. Some where in the process of the 2014 year MTM will begin to simultaneously host two teaching teams traveling to different countries at the same time. Raymond will continue to give leadership to one team while Merle also leads another team. As this develops we will be adding many more conferences to the 2014 schedule.

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THIS MINISTRY

It has been a great three weeks in the class room here at IGo with the second semester students perusing through the book of I Corinthians.

Who then is Adoniram, and who is MTM, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? Adoniram Judson planted, MTM watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. I Corinthians 3:5-7 (paraphrased). It was inspiring to get to our hotel in Myitkyina and find a Bible lying beside the bed with the inscription, ‘Translated by A. Judson.”

The Full Myanmar Ministry Team. Twila Weaver (IGo student), Julie Meyers – holding Isaac’s baby (IGo student), David Yoder (IGo student), John Yoder (IGo student) & Orlando King (IGo dean of students). Barb & Val Yoder, Raymond Burkholder

The church is very alive in Myanmar and there is significant mission work being done by indigenous Christians, but one brother lamented that nearly all the teaching is about how to become a Christian and the salvation message. As important as that foundation is, he went on to lament, “We have almost no teaching on how to live as a Christian.” This was the concern of Pastor Isaac when he invited MTM to northern Myanmar for a five-day conference for church leaders on “Advancing the Kingdom.” The burden of his heart was to give Biblical teaching on how to build the kingdom through evangelizing the lost and through raising godly children.

Brother Raymond and I found the three hundred plus attendees to be very attentive. They diligently took notes to record what they were learning and committed themselves to practicing what they heard. When the invitation was given for them to publicly affirm their commitment to allow God to change their life style, only a few remained in their seat as the group spontaneously came forward for prayer.

The wife of one leader related that they had not heard teaching of this nature in thirty years. She is committed to taking her notes and making booklets for her husband to use in teaching these principles throughout the churches over which he has oversight. What a joy to see the enthusiasm with which these leaders received the teaching and their vision to spread it throughout Myanmar.

We also enjoyed the rich fellowship of a team of IGo students who accompanied us to Myitkyina and ministered at a Bible college nearby. The impact of the IGo students on the native students was affirmed by the tears in the eyes of the Burmese young people when we had to leave. May the beauty of God’s holiness be seen in us!

Testimony Of Pastor Pardeep & His Wife Sashi

It was a great privilege to host a 4-day MTM conference at Ludhiana,Punjab.Praise God for allowing Rev.Raymond Burkholder & his friends to come & teach us. This conference was a life changing event where around 70 Pastors & Key church leaders came together from different parts of state,Punjab. The key theme on this 4 days conference was”The ministry of The Holy Spirit & Servant-hood leadership”. In this conference we learnt that we need to offer ourselves as complete sacrifice in order to be accepted & used by God.We also learnt how to be filled with the Spirit of God by emptying ourselves. Thank you so much for edifying & encouraging us. After attending this conference our life & ministry has been changed. We appreciate your labor of love to come & serve us with the word & love of God. This conference was indeed very effective & had great impact on all who attended that they had asked to organize more of this conference ~ Pastor Pardeep & Sashi

How does one describe a week of ministry in India? Sometimes first impressions are temporary and second impressions replace first impressions. I will mention several first impressions. As we were landing in Delhi I noticed that the land was flat and I saw no farm machinery (although I did see some farm tractors and even a combine later). As we drove through Delhi and into the countryside I was impressed with the cows who lay, walked, and stood along and in the road as if they owned the road; these cows reminded me of the beliefs that produce these sights. And of course the driving–oh the driving. I will never forget the driving. Almost no traffic lights or stop signs, constant horn blowing, people passing when there is no room to pass, and near misses time after time. The amazing thing is that I saw no accidents the whole week. I wonder what the fatality rate is! (Be sure to click the link below and watch the video to see this)

But in the midst of these first impressions, some of which were also second and third impressions, I also had other impressions. I was impressed with the desire of the Indian people to serve those who had come to serve them. They cared about our every physical need; they served us in ways I have seldom experienced.

I was impressed by the number who knew English. The average attendance of pastors and women was about 70 plus a number of children, and about half the people knew some English and many of those attending took notes, including the children. Some of the children took notes in English. Listening. Soaking it up. Thanking us for coming. The people were passionate about their relationship with Christ and hungry to learn.

The Full Ludhiana Pastors Conference Group

Raymond spoke eight times about the ministry of the Holy Spirit. My impression was that there was great interest in the work of the Holy Spirit, especially in the gifts of prophecy, healing, tongues, and casting out demons, and very settled beliefs about these aspects of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But there seemed to be less understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit in living the Christian life. These people are passionate about following Jesus but they are first generation Christians trying to develop their beliefs and find their way. My impression was that, despite the challenge of speaking through an interpreter, Raymond’s powerful and “to the point” messages spoke deeply to hungry hearts seeking a deeper understanding and filling of the Holy Spirit. I spoke eight times about the pastor as a suffering servant. My impression was that Mark 10:35-45 was especially applicable in their culture. In this passage Jesus tells his disciples, who wanted high positions in His Kingdom, that servant leadership in the Kingdom of God is not like earthly rulers who often want the highest position (want to be “first”) and want others to serve them. Both Raymond and I said things that were new and ran counter to what the people have believed in the past. But in the midst of these new ideas, the people received the teaching with open and grateful hearts. They took it in and soaked it up and thanked us for being there. Hungry people. Needy people. Learners. This is the kind of people we ministered to in far away India. The last evening Brother Raymond gave an invitation for anyone who wanted to surrender anything in their life that hindered God filling them with the fullness power of the Holy Spirit. Almost everyone came to the front with hands held high seeking forgiveness and filling.

I had a lasting impression as I sat for eleven hours in the Chandigarh airport waiting for my flight on the way home. I watched as the many security personnel (policemen) worked with each other as they did their job. They were kind and respectful toward each other, often shaking (and even holding) hands and always smiling at each other. No one ever acted frustrated. Finally I went to one of them and said that I have been watching them all these hours and I noticed how well they relate to each other. I explained what I meant. Then I asked him why they relate to each other this way. He proceeded to describe their job (to keep the people of all countries safe and their people safe and to protect each other and their leaders). He then smiled at me and asked to see my ticket. I showed it to him and he started telling me what I would need to do to get my boarding pass. When he was finished I thanked him and told him that I didn’t talk to him because I needed help. I was talking to him because I wanted to thank him and his coworkers for demonstrating love and kindness toward each other and I wanted to know why they do that. He smiled and said thank you very much. But he didn’t tell me why they relate this way. The impression I had is that their department was following the command of Jesus to love one another better than many Christians do, although they probably didn’t know about Jesus’ command. We thank God for His presence and work in the hearts of people around the world.

Editor’s Note; This article was written by brother Milo Zehr who serves as Pastor of Shalom Mennonite Church, Cochranton, PA. Formerly Campus Pastor and Dean of Students at Faith Builders Educational Programs for twenty years. Thank you brother Milo for faithfully serving the Lord and these dear Indian people through MTM. Your teaching met a great need among these Indian church leaders ~ Raymond

We were welcomed at the MTM conference in India with lots of smiles and hugs from the Christian ladies. It was an overwhelming feeling to think that for the next few days we had the opportunity to teach these ladies. There were language and cultural barriers we faced, but getting to know them and seeing their smiling faces every day was a huge blessing. There were seven ladies’ sessions with about 40 ladies ranging from ages 8-65. We were blessed with a Christian translator who cared deeply about the hearts of the ladies attending the conference. She was an answer to prayer and a blessing to us. The ladies were so hungry for the Word of God and for truth. Their hearts were very open as they soaked up the love we showed and the truths that were spoken. The ladies told us that most of the things that we shared they had never heard before. They also told us how thankful they were for our presence there. Spending time with the younger girls was a highlight as we laughed and played with them. One evening we taught the ladies the song “Bind us Together” after sharing about loving each other with Christ’s love. This truly gave us a picture of the body of Christ with our hearts bound together in love as the 40 of us stood in a circle clasping hands and clapping with the rhythm of the song. When leaving the conference, it felt like we left a part of our hearts there as the ladies told us how much they will miss us and even cried as we said goodbye. We are so grateful to God for the opportunity that we had in ministering to these Indian ladies and showing God’s love to them.

    1) Pray for full team Spirit unity

    2) Pray for the IGo students as they minister to the children and teach English

    3) Pray for the MTM/Ransom teaching team. Specifically for cross cultural teaching gifts. Specifically for Milo Zehr, Raymond Burkholder, Rosa King and her friends.

   4) Pray for our Indian interpreters as they translate our teaching into the native language.

   5) Pray for the teams physical health as we live and minister in an unfamiliar culture and eat native foods.

   6) Pray for the teams spiritual protection. This region of India is extremely spiritually dark and is controlled by the powers of darkness and spiritual wickedness that rule in high places.

The next day we drove the four hours from Winnipeg to Dryden where Northern Youth Programs is located. The NYP missions conference was conducted at Beaver Lake. This missions conference was an event where all the NYP missionaries come together from their many different mission posts in the north-land. The Believers Fellowship missionaries from Sioux Lookout also join the NYP missionaries for this event. It is a very special time for these front line workers for God’s Kingdom who work with the north-land aboriginal people. Naomi & I were tremendously blessed to be a part of this very special event.

Naomi & I arrived a day or two ahead of the time the NYP Missions Conference began. We spent this time with Merle & Edith Burkholder at Sioux Lookout. Brother Merle is our IGo board chairman. Brother Merle has traveled with me to Bhutan as well as Myanmar as a guest teacher for MTM. Brother Merle also teaches at our IGo Bible Institute bi-annual. Now it was my turn to travel with him….and thus I did. Needless to say we had a great time together. Be sure to click on the link below for many photos of our north-land adventures and ministry.

“Foundations” is the word that is ringing in my mind this morning one day after the conference. The first foundation was squarely laid and labeled, God in marriage. This foundation gave support for the building of other messages on the Christian Home. By starting with a foundation that was so obvious, it brought “buy in” for both the married and the single leaders that were present. Cultural and so called Christian norms of divorce and remarriage were exposed to God’s hatred. When Biblical explanation was given to the exception clause in Mt 19:9, it brought responses like “we have never heard this taught before”. Husbands were exhorted to love their wives as Christ loved the Church. At one point, Brother Raymond asked the wives if this was the kind of husband they wanted, and I think every hand went up. Wives were taught by God’s Word to reverence their husbands as the Church does Christ. Going deeper than just respect, brought a clear picture to the men as to the kind of wife they desired as well. By the third day, every one could see where these messages were going. It was like a big gospel net had been spread, and by now we were all in it. The family is God’s heart for spreading the Kingdom of Jesus Christ on this earth. Whose idea is it to limit family size? Is it culture or God, Raymond asked, and the people said, “culture.” Who is the giver of children? Several times the room went silent and Brother Raymond would have to say, “hello?” Be fruitful, let God multiply the arrows for the battle against the kingdom of darkness: more arrows to spread the Gospel across the street, city, country, or globe. Some hands- on training was given on clear steps of loving discipline needed in shaping our arrows, so they can go out with a broken will under the leadership of the King of Kings.

The Full MTM Conference Group

The second foundation squarely laid was labeled: Complete surrender to Jesus Christ. From this foundation other messages were built, with the overall theme of Ministering in the power of the Holy Spirit. The goal is to prepare the ministry for Kingdom involvement. Ministers were pointed to Christ’s teachings for doctrine and to the Holy Spirit for power. Warnings were given about just standing gazing when there is work to be done. At one point the Nepali brethren shared several ways of preparation for kingdom involvement: 1) prayer, 2) waiting for proper timing, 3) confidence in calling, 4) surrender, 5) a servant’s heart, 6) knowing the Word of God. Ministering in the power of the Spirit means walking in the Spirit. A demonstration was given of how walking in the Spirit binds the hands of the flesh. The same thing is true when walking in the flesh, we bind the hands of the Spirit.

Brother Raymond pulled all the teaching together in the last session of the conference by camping on Isaiah 44:3-5. God’s heart here is to pour His Spirit on those that thirst for Him. He will pour His Spirit on our children and they shall spring up as willows among the water courses. This brought the foundations together in one building. The foundation of God in marriage and the seed produced by the family is now ready to be watered by the ministry of the Holy Spirit as we thirst for Him. Jesus builds His church on this earth in 2 ways: 1) Evangelizing in the power of the Holy Spirit, and 2) through the Godly family, the “church in our house”.

These folks are so precious. At one point I told Raymond, “Some of them are just like sponges, they are soaking up every drop of the Gospel”. Praise God for the Work of His Spirit!

MTM held its third conference in this land of the descendants of Mizraim, the son of Ham, the son of Noah. This country is tense with rebels calling for a re-election due to millions reacting to the new president who represents the radically conservative Muslim Brotherhood Party. While all this political chaos is taking place, God is opening hearts in this historic biblical land. We found it very easy to engage in conversation about spiritual things with the Muslim people even though presenting Christ to a Muslim is illegal, and conversion to Christianity can be deadly for them. Unfortunately, Christians too often struggle with bitterness toward Islam and resort to silence in relation to evangelizing them.

God spoke to the ninety-five Egyptian pastors and leaders that attended the MTM conference and inspired them to again take up the torch of the Gospel in the power of His Holy Spirit in sessions taught by Brother Raymond Burkholder. The other two classes underscored primary avenues through which God can build the Kingdom of Christ in the Land of the Pyramids. Emmanuel Esh taught some stirring classes on how to present the Gospel to the sons of Ishmael. My subject involved raising Godly children so that our homes can become a living demonstration God can use to underscore the results of His holiness in family life. It can only be attributed to the work of the Holy Spirit how these three rather diverse subjects could blend so well and deeply challenge the Egyptian believers to actively enter the task of winning their neighbors and children to the Lord Jesus Christ.

God is doing a great work in the hearts of the Egyptians. The invitations again poured in for more conferences in the future. Please pray for wisdom as Brother Raymond plans and schedules future MTM conferences. Lord willing, Merle and Judy Flory will join MTM this fall as Raymond’s assistant, and the effect of these conferences will be multiplied for the Lord’s glory.

Isaiah 19 tells us, “In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”

Isa 19:24-25 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

God has again open the door for MTM to do a leadership conference in Egypt. The dates for the conference are May 27-31. God has been shaking Egypt just as Isaiah 19 prophesies. Egypt is at strategic place for the church of Jesus Christ to rise up and boldly Minister the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please do pray that the MTM ministry team would be a teaching and empowering vessel that God would use to that end.
