MTM Needs

The vision of IGo-MTM is no longer a vision but is now a reality. The fingerprints of God are clearly upon IGO-MTM. Recently as I sat and listen to Brother Zela from Aizawl, India open his heart, here is what he said; he knows there is a deeper experiential Christianity that his people know nothing about. He went on to say that he has been searching and has become aware of a certain Anabaptist people who have reality behind their Christianity. Then he looks us right in the eyes and asks us if we would happen to be Anabaptist. Now how do you explain a divine appointment such as that……non other then the fingerprint of God !!! Blessed be God !!!

This is just one example of a testimony that repeats itself over and over again in SE Asia. It is here where 97% of the unreached people groups are located. God is raising up a native people for Himself in Christ Jesus to take the gospel to the yet unreached people of this world. A people who are not foreigners and strangers who come with a foreign gospel, but rather a people who are their own people who speak their own language bringing the gospel to them for the first time. God has called and open up a way for IGo Macedonian Teaching Ministry to get along side of those Christians and help them through teaching and equipping them with the all things of Jesus Christ, to empower them to go. What a blessed open door and privilege is ours, but we need your help.

Presently MTM has training schools already scheduled in Myanmar, Indonesia, Nepal and Bhutan for 2009. The open door of opportunity that God has set before MTM is staggering. The cost for a week of training such as this is anywhere from $2000 to $4000 USD. All of your faithful contributions will be used to facilitate a training school of native students in equipping them to take the gospel to where it has not yet been preached. MTM Aizawl (Mizoram) India

These Dear Young People Were Our Students At Aizawl, India

What a blessed Gospel opportunity was ours (Brother Collier Berkshire and Raymond Burkholder) as we traveled to Aizawl, India on a Macedonian Teaching Ministry (MTM) recently. Just hours before our scheduled departure, the Bangkok airport closed due to protesters storming the facility. Three days later God clearly gave a rhema that we are to fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord which He will show to you this day (Exo 14:13). Within hours God open up the way and we departed Chiang Mai by overnight bus to Bangkok. After a three days journey by bus, taxi & airplane, criss crossing across India, we arrived at Aizawl. Without a shadow of doubt God had miraculously open up the way with a clear purpose for His honor & glory. This quickly became evident as our class began. We had 29-30 dear young people who truly were after Gods own missionary heart. All of them were of Mizo ethnic. Our hearts thrilled at their desire to know God and be a missionary unto the unreached of their own people and nations. Most all of them have a vision of targeting an unreached people group for the gospel. This is what IGo-MTM is all about. Getting along side of native Christians and farther equipping and mobilizing them that they would win their own unreached people groups to Jesus Christ.

Ranong, Thailand

Val Yoder, Collier Berkshire and myself traveled to southern Thailand to visit Michael Stoltzfus and David King October 24-28. These young men are studying the Thai language in preparation to minister to the Moken sea gypsy people. These people were a despised and rejected people group that lived in poverty and very primitive conditions up until the December 2004 tsunami. After the tsunami physical aid began to pour in and numerous missionary organizations began to work among them to bring them the Gospel. One of those missionary organizations is STAMP based out of Malaysia. Michael and Dave are working with this ministry. We would love to send some IGo students to work along side of Michael and David in the future on their ministry trips. The vision and passion these two young men have for the Lord and and his missionary work is something our IGo students need to experience. These two young men can teach by example which is far better then instruction.

Teaching Old Testament Prophets at IGo

We are presently in the last full week of the fifth term here at IGo. We certainly have a great group of students who want to go deep with God. Last week God did a deep work in most all of the students hearts. We had a sweet visitation of the Lord. There were many confessions and spiritual stakes driven for the Lord. It all started when a native Muslim young man, who was recently converted, had to go in hiding due to his new found faith in Christ Jesus. About the same time, one of the young men who is a student here at IGo, was soundly converted. This caused all of the students to look inward and become transparent before the Lord. Rejoice with us, God has wrought a great victory for His Kingdom work and for His glory. Blessed be God. Thank you for your ongoing prayers.

Jakarta, Indonesia

I made a quick weekend trip to Jakarta, Indonesia September 5-8. The purpose of my trip was for contact purposes. It was so good to be back in Indonesia. My wife and I had spend a total of 6 months in Indonesia working with Christian Aid ministries in tsunami relief work in Banda Aceh. Here in Thailand we find ourselves using Indonesian words rather then Thai language words. Now I was free to use the Indonesian words.

Macedonian Teaching Ministry in Thimpu, Bhutan

August 17-21 were the official commencing dates of the IGo Macedonian Teaching Ministry in SE Asia. Val Yoder and I traveled to the small country of Bhutan. This country is located at the foot hills of the Himalayan mountains directly north of eastern India. Bhutan is very rugged with mostly hills & mountains. The experience to fly into Bhutan was a thrill to say the least. We flew in on an Airbus A319 jet plane literally flying down the valley making numerous turns around mountain ranges & hills to follow the valley to where the airport was located. The runway was short due to lack of flat valley space. We stopped hard and fast. It truly was an “only in SE Asia experience.

Val & Raymond At Paro Airport, Bhutan

Bhutan has a population of 700,000 people and only 2.5 % are Christian. The country is primarily Buddhist and its influence is seen everywhere. There are many stuppas (a place of ancient Buddhist worship), monumental shrines, Monks, prayer flags and prayer wheels to be seen most everywhere. We were overwhelmed with sadness at how dedicated these dear Bhutanese people are at spinning those prayer wheels and walking around & around those Buddhist monuments seeking virtue & forgiveness of sin. In many ways their dedication and diligence shames Christianity.

But then there are also the dear Bhutanese Christians. They certainly gave us a royal welcome and treatment. What a privilege and opportunity is ours to get along side of theses dear native Christians, upon their request, for Biblical teaching and training. They live in a country which is shackled in the bondage of Buddhist religious deception. And God grants us the privilege & opportunity to get alongside and help them with Biblical teaching and training to win their own people to Jesus Christ. My heart thrills and staggers at the same time at such a precious opportunity and responsibility. Please do pray for these dear Christians as they seek and pray to see their country give honor & glory to Jesus Christ.
