The harvest of 2015 found MTM teams in 6 different nations, conducting a total of 10 conferences, and one 3-week Bible School.  Because of your prayers and gifts, all of our needs were met in advance! To God be the glory!!

There are times we have questions about the  effectiveness of the work of MTM. Recently at our Chintaluru, India Conference, we were blessed with this testimony from the “harvest” field. On Oct 30, 2015 while conducting remote village ministry about 150 km from Chintaluru, we arrived at a church.  This was a new church where we were scheduled to have a dedication service.  Joseph, the 25 year old pastor and his wife stood in front of the church.  Upon meeting them, we learned that when Brother Raymond conducted a MTM Conference in Chintaluru 5 years ago, Joseph was an attendee. It was at that conference, while just 20 years old, Joseph committed his life in service to the Lord and to ministry.  Is God’s work through MTM effective?  Now 5 years later, the Lord arranged for another MTM team to be there to dedicate this planting to the Lord.  Hallelujah!  Following the dedication service were baptisms for 8 souls.  When coming up out of the water rejoicing, we noticed an elderly gentleman coming toward the water.  At this very touching moment, we turned around and witnessed the 9^th baptism. This man was the young pastor’s very own father, who now accepted Christ.  This was a glorious moment…Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. In this great harvest of souls, some of you have sown, some of you have watered, all of you are part of this harvest, and GOD HAS GIVEN THE INCREASE…HALLELUJAH…BLESSED BE GOD!!

The post FINISHING THE HARVEST OF ‘15…WHILE SOWING FOR ‘16 appeared first on Macedonian Teaching Ministry.

MTM received a request to come and teach at this Bible college of 43 students for 3 days as well as another 2 days which included a pastor’s conference with students also attending. The enrolled students are from many different states of India who already have sensed the “call of God” upon their lives to reach their own people for the Lord. These are students are not there to decide if they have the call of God upon their lives, but rather they already have sensed God’s call and are pursuing a closer personal walk with God, and a knowledge to take the gospel forth to an unreached people group.

The MTM Team & The Bible School Seminary Students

Raymond taught the students of Kingdom principals how Gods kingdom differs from the worldly kingdom. When speaking to the pastors, he taught on the Godly marriage and Godly home. Very new teaching to many of them that Godly marriage and Godly homes is also a way to grow the kingdom of God along with evangelism.

I taught to the students about having Christ living within us by the Holy Spirit and being formed into a living example for the world to see. An everyday practice what Godly living is like. To the pastors and students, I taught how the Body of Christ functions in a church and the qualifications of ordained leaders. Qualifications not only to be present at the time of ordination, but to be maintained through the life of the leader.

The vision of MTM has been carried out once again with this Bible teaching conference. The MTM vision is to respond to the call of native Christians who have the basic foundation of the gospel but have not had the opportunity to be discipled in the “all things of Jesus Christ”.  Repeatedly MTM has the opportunity to teach the Biblical Anabaptist conviction, which is totally new teaching among Christiandom in Asia and the regions where MTM ministers. Teachings and belief that many of us take for granted because we have been taught from little on up for many generations. If these people in these parts of the world would already be in conviction where we are as Anabaptist’s, there would be no need for MTM to go and teach them. But the staggering truth is that MTM is teaching them Bible truths that are totally new to them.

My personal challenge by this conference was to see the great need firsthand, and to see that many of my pursuits of life has been about myself while others are dying not knowing the salvation I have experienced through our dear Lord Jesus Christ.

Where is Palampur Himanchal Pradesh, India?

This ministry trip will be taking us to Berachah Ministries Bible College & Seminary in Palampur, HP India. Presently this seminary has 42 emerging church leader students enrolled. The first three days we will be teaching the seminary students. Then the following three days native pastors and leaders will be coming to the seminary facility and joining the seminary students and we will be teaching a pastoral leadership conference.

The MTM ministry team will be comprised of two MTM teachers who will be teaching the seminary students as well as the pastoral leadership conference. Two sisters that will be representing Ransom ministries who will be teaching a young ladies class to the seminary students. There will also be 6 IGo students as part of the ministry team who will be functioning in separate ministry in the same region. Our full team is made up of 11 team members.

Specific Prayer Requests

1) Pray for safe travels by air and by vehicle.
2) Pray for team unity in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
3) Pray for safe travels for all the pastoral leaders who will be coming to the seminary facility from remote regions of India.
4) Pray for each of us teachers that we will rightly divide the Word of Truth cross-culturally
5) Pray for the MTM teams daily health as well as divine protection both day & night.
6) Pray for the native interpreters to experience the gift of tongues as they interpret for each of us teachers.
7) Pray that Jesus Christ the worthy lamb would be exalted in each and every teaching class.

It was truly a blessed opportunity and privilege to worship with the saints in Chintaluru! This tiny village of about 3,000 souls is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh near the Bay of Bengal in southeast India.  We enjoyed an inspiring week of fellowship which included 3 days of conferences, several nights of revival meetings at neighboring villages, a birthday party service for 7-year old Praveen, playing games and singing with the children, visiting congregations in remote mountain areas, and many opportunities for fellowship around tables laden with delicious Indian food.

The mission of MTM is to disciple native Christian pastors and mobilize them to reach their own unreached people for Christ.  This conference in Chintaluru encouraged approximately 196 local pastors in their ministry for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Brother Merle Flory taught on “The Importance of a Fruitful Ministry” from John 15, focusing on our proper relationship with God, with others, and with the world. Brother Michael Cook taught on “Running the Race of Faith” from Hebrews 12:1-3, with talks regarding the Focus of our Faith – Jesus Christ, the Response of our Faith – Worship, and the Trial of our Faith. Abraham Samuel, the local pastor whose father planted this congregation 30 years before, coordinated the conference and interpreted the messages into the local dialect of Telugu. What an example of faith to witness believers yearning for prayer and worshipping God with fervency!

It was very encouraging to see new churches being started in remote mountain villages.  One congregation just dedicated their place of worship (a structure of poles with a roof), and are growing in numbers and faith. They recall with fondness when Brother Raymond came and preached to them in 2010.

It was a “joy” to be with Abraham, his wife Sharon, and their 18 month-old daughter named Joy.  Sharon was an excellent hostess and made us feel very welcomed and blessed. Another heart-warming experience was interacting with the 19 orphans being raised by Abraham and Sharon.  They sang us a song about “God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost – Three in One”. They taught us deep life lessons on how God can multiply his blessings to many others when a young pastor and his wife open their hearts and home to the fatherless.

We praise and thank the Lord for this opportunity and want to say “Thank You” from the bottom of our hearts to Merle and Judy, MTM, and Abraham and Sharon, who made this possible. It was with mixed feelings that we said “farewell” and piled into the vehicle for our bumpy ride back to our place of lodging after the conference was over.  We could say with the Apostle Paul, from Philippians 1:6 – 7a, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart…”

May God receive all the praise! “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” Revelation 5:12

Thanks for MTM’s assistance to make this event a BIG blessing and success.  The MTM team are very Loving and gave themselves to make us happy and feel blessed. Those days were really memorable as a result 200 pastors attended and 16 people took baptisms.

Macedonian Teaching Ministry is devoted to helping national leaders reach out in evangelism and to do the work of discipleship in churches in many countries. Raymond and Naomi Burkholder and Merle and Judy Flory travel to many countries to do this work of teaching and discipleship.

The vision of Raymond and Merle is to strengthen the hands of the national pastors and leaders. This is exactly what has happened here in Nagaland. Both Brother Raymond and I were able to participate in teaching sessions with leaders from churches of several different tribes. Many expressed their appreciation for the teaching.

There are many of the national leaders who have never had a spiritual father. Brother Raymond and Brother Merle are able to minister to these men on a personal level as well as in the conference teaching. It is very empowering for these men to have a relationship with an older pastor/teacher. I believe that Brother Raymond and Brother Merle fill a spiritual void in the lives of many of these leaders.

We have met so many men in the past week who have a vision for spiritual growth in the churches here. They are trying to inspire people to have a closer walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Brother Raymond is able to come along side these men and speak to the people about the need to follow the call of God in their lives. While we were here in Nagaland Merle and Judy Flory were in another part of India (Chintalure Village in Andhra Pradesh) carrying out a similar work.

It is my desire and prayer that God will bless both of these couples with health, energy, and strength to continue the important work of MTM for many years to come.

Following is pastor Jeamy’s personal testimony of the recent mission’s conference in the Philippines; My personal testimony regarding MTM seminar conducted by MTM hosted by Oriental Missionary Fellowship for Christ OMFC) last Oct. 5-7 2015 in Lanigay, Polangui, Albay, Philippines. Our main speakers were Pastor Raymond Burkholder and Pastor Merle Flory.

Since 2000, I was called by God to do mission but I am already a Pastor for 20 years in my former denomination. On 2002, God lead me to study cross-culture Mission in MCGM, Malaysia. After graduating I came back to the Philippines full of courage and enthusiasm to mobilize Pastors and Christian workers to do mission. But to my surprise Christian Leaders and Pastors almost 97% ignore my vision, thinking that doing Mission is another kind of doctrine that will destroy their churches.  So I felt discouraged to encourage other Pastors, but I continue my vision and calling to my own people and after 12 years I raise up 12 Pastors and 12 missionaries and able to plant 12 local churches. But personally I admit that I am beginning to feel dry in pursuing my calling and vision to make my province into a Missionary sending province because I am the only one doing what I am doing. Nobody wants to join me in my province so I started to pray for partners. So I was so happy to see the ministry of MTM on the internet, so I did not hesitate to invite them to come to the Philippines to help me mobilize our Pastors. I thank MTM to send to us Pastor Raymond Burkholder and Pastor Merle Flory to speak as our guest to our international Discipleship last Oct. 5-7 2015.  And it bring great results

The Full Missions Conference Group In The Philippines

1. I was very much encourage in continuing what God called me to do and blessed to become a partner with MTM.
2. It changes my focus to train more men for leadership rather than women. With a vision to see that men or husbands leading the family in serving God like what Joshua said… “as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. (Josua 24:15)
3. The impression of the Pastors was changed at this mission’s conference. They learn that mission is not another or some different doctrines. They believe that mission is a purpose of God in the church stated in the Bible from Old Testament to the New Testament. The church need to know God and make Him known to others.

So I pray that God will allow the MTM to come again to the Philippines for another mission training in the coming years. It is my great joy to the Lord to become a partner of MTM in building God’s Kingdom. Thank you for all your prayers and concern. May God richly bless MTM.

We greet each of you in the sweet loving name of Lord Jesus Christ from Nepal. I would like to share about how God blessed MTM-HBS 2015 with his heavenly blessings.

Very difficult & uncertain situation for HBS 2015:

As many of you know Nepal was badly devastated by two powerful earthquakes earlier this year which caused lots of death, chaos, suffering and a hopeless situation. Beside that, there were continuous aftershocks also which were shaking our country and there was physical damage of the HBS premises & facility. We even thought to withhold HBS this year as we were not sure if we would be able to hold in this kind of situation.

God had a beautiful plan for HBS 2015:

We prayed to God for his direction and his guidance in this critical situation. As the bible says that all things work together for good to them that love God Rom. 8:28, in the same way God had a beautiful plan for the hopeless situation. First, he miraculously provided the funds to repair the damaged HBS premises and helped us to repair it on time and the second, he helped us to hold HBS in his perfect timing. Last year we had HBS in April & we had planned on the same month for this year. But somehow, there was sudden changes on dates. Now we came to know it was God’s perfect planning & timing. And we praise & thank God for that. God wanted to use HBS as a means to comfort, encourage pastors and leaders who had experienced such devastation and were having difficulty to cope with hopeless situation.

MTM-HBS 2015 Was Attended by 36 Church Leaders and or Emerging Leaders From All Over The Regions Of Nepal 

Participants willingness to risk their lives to come to HBS:

Last year there were 20 participants but this year we had 36 participants including 5 ladies from different parts of Nepal. There were mostly from quake victims who have lost their homes and some of their relatives in the earthquake. As the starting time of HBS 2015 was coming nearer, there were strikes, agitations and road blockade and violence going on in different parts of Nepal due to the political situation. And the participants were facing difficulty to join bible school due to violence and blockade of public transportation. We as the HBS committee were a bit disappointed as the day before starting time there were only 12 participants had showed up. But amazingly, the students started to show up from first day. The strike, agitation, violence and blockade didn’t stop their willingness of participants to join bible school to be blessed from the word of God. Some of students even risked their lives and came standing on the over filled bus the whole night traveling more than 600 km in a very packed & congested vehicle through jungle road to bypass the agitators.

The students were blessed from the biblical teachings:

The students were very much blessed from the teaching topics. The first topic was godly marriage and home by Ps. Raymond Burkholder. During this teaching class the attendees came to know how God is building his church through evangelism & the godly marriage and family and how God wants to bless the world through godly seed. Many students came to know evil schemes of devil in today’s world to destroy godly marriage and family, eg divorce, family planning, birth control, and ungodly & wicked entertainment and how to be aware from that to save godly marriage and family and be a salt & light in this wicked world. Many students confessed that they had viewed family planning and birth control and abortion acceptable in today’s modern society as it has become acceptable in the Nepalese society due to Government liberal stance and western influence. Now they came to know that the opening and closing of the womb is from God and the godly marriage, family and children is God’s blessings and He wants godly seed to be fruitful and multiply and replenish in Nepal.

The second teaching was from the book of Romans by Joseph Root. The students were blessed to know that God has called them for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name and he wants impart spiritual gifts to the end that they may be established in faith in firm rock (Jesus Christ) with sound teachings that whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed Rom. 9:33.

The students were also blessed by the third topic on brokenness by Ps. Merle Flory that God use external and internal situation to break us down so that we can be a more useful vessel for his kingdom work and his name is glorified through our humble, obedient and submissive life.

Students filled with zeal & passion to teach others:

At the end of the HBS, many students gave their testimony on how these biblical teachings blessed & encouraged in their lives despite the hopeless situation in post earthquake. They also expressed their zeal and passion to teach in their respective village churches and also apply the teachings in their own lives so that they would be effective testimony & blessings to others. Lastly, we would like to thank God for the blessed & successful HBS 2015. Without out him everything would have been impossible. We would also like to thank our beloved teachers Ps. Raymond, Ps. Merle and Ps. Joseph for their willingness to teach Nepalese pastors and leaders for 3 weeks with love and compassion for Nepalese churches and leaders. Also to all those who have contributed their cheerful contribution for the HBS and for their effective prayers.

The MTM team will consist of three teachers and their wives.  Brother Raymond Burkholder and his wife Naomi, Brother Joe Root and his wife Melanie, and Brother Merle Flory and his wife Judy. Brother Joe and Sister Melanie are traveling here to serve as a MTM guest teacher from America.  They currently live and serve in Ellensburg, Washington. We will plan to have 3 classes daily, with 3 different subjects taught.

Brother Raymond’s class is on the “Godly Home and Family”. Brother Joe’s class is a study of the “Book of Romans”.  Brother Merle’s class is on “Brokenness”.  All three classes will be translated into the Nepali language by native interpreters.  Please pray for the many dynamics that we anticipate in this cross cultural Bible School.

 In prayer, please keep in mind some of the very recent sensitive political issues.  It seems that peace and stability is deteriorating in different parts of Nepal due to the government writing a new constitution. There have been strikes, agitation, and blockades in some areas. There has also been violent clashes between Police and protesters.

Specific Prayer Points for HBS:

1. That God will show Himself strong during this crisis, to both the Church and the gospel unreached
2. Safety for the 40 HBS students traveling through various regions of Nepal
3. For HBS teachers to rightly divide the Word of Truth cross culturally
4. For God to give our MTM team daily health, and divine protection day and night
5. For the native interpreters to have the gift of tongues as they translate the lessons
6. For the HBS committee, as they give direction and leadership to the School
7. That the worthy slain Lamb of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, would be exalted in every class

Immediately following HBS, Raymond & Naomi will be joined by Wesley & Alice King from Bellville, PA to teach a three day Family Life Conference hosted by EQUIP Ministry. The dates for this family life conference are September 21-23, 2015 at Tansen, Nepal. EQUIP is a ministry connected to IGo & CAM in sponsoring orphan children all over the regions of Nepal. The family life conference will be for the directors of the different orphanages they are sponsoring.

But why all the security? There may be dangers that we can’t see or are totally unaware of!  They were there for our protection and security. For several days they even had the Elite Police Force watching over us for our security. Our hosting Pastor informed us they are there for our security. The government requires it, to keep the foreigners safe, we are told. We still didn’t understand it all, but so it is when you visit countries and cultures that are vastly diverse from our own and there is hatred for Christians. We might as well get used to it.

The four day conference was held in the Salvation Army church building in Sahiwal.  In spite of the extreme heat (100 degrees every day), it was packed out with about 100 pastors, teachers, and Sunday school teachers every day.  About 30 of them were women, all modestly dressed in traditional Pakistan colors and head scarves. Many of the men wore the cool, light and loose fitting traditional dress for Pakistan men. Bro Raymond taught on the “Godly Marriage, Home and Family”.  A much needed teaching. “We have never heard this kind of teaching”, they said again and again. It was very much appreciated. Apparently they hear a lot of messages on salvation, and little if any on the practical outworking’s of the Christian Life. So many sincere brothers and sisters, but lacking in the “meat” of the Word. It seems like most of the churches in the regions where MTM ministers are shallow in doctrine (a mile long and an inch deep). They preach salvation every Sunday and the people never have heard these kind of teachings. Many of them were very blessed and shared much appreciation for his teaching. Even the conference photographer testified that he went home and confessed to his wife, his wrong attitudes and sins, asking forgiveness, and then he washed her feet, (a part of Bro Raymond’s teaching). Praise the LORD!

Emanuel Esh taught on “God is a Missionary God”. Several points included, pointing out the powers of darkness striving against the Kingdom of Light, and God’s plan to redeem from every nation, tribe, and kindred, a people for himself. We used a power point to show the nations of the world, and the 10/40 window, and mentioned the unreached people groups in the countries nearby. Using the “Story of Ishmael” in Genesis, and Isaiah 60, we showed God’s heart and promise for the “sons of Ishmael” their Muslim neighbors. The church, like Hagar, has turned its back on Ishmael, so as not to watch him die. But God heard the cry of Ishmael, and told the mother (the church) to go to the well and take the living water to the dying souls. God began to work in their hearts about reaching out to their Muslim brothers. Two men responded to God’s call to missions, by dedicating their lives to take the gospel, the one, to go from city to city, the other specifically to the unreached people groups in the country. On the last day of the conference we had a time of prayer to commissioning these brothers to the work, with laying on of hands and prayer for both of them.

Three Catholic Couples Who Came To Faith In The Lord Jesus Christ

One evening after teaching at the conference at Sahiwal as we went from house to house preaching and praying for the people, we were in a Catholic home and we had a glorious opportunity to see three young couples come to repentance and faith it the Lord Jesus Christ.

 AFTER THE  CONFERENCE

We drove 2.5 hours back to the city region of Lahore and for three days we went from house to house, door to door ministering in Jesus Name. We also preached evenings in numerous different churches with many responding to the call of Jesus Christ. One day we drove to the industrial region of Raiwind well outside of the city limits of Lahore. In this region there are many brick yards where they make brick. These people are a very poor low caste people. They have no opportunity for education or ever rise above their extreme poverty situation. They ceased their labors of making bricks and gathered together right in the brickyard under a very small tent in the 90+ degrees sun. What a great joy and an opportunity to preach the glorious liberating gospel to these dear souls who in many ways are in slavery to their brick yard employers. When the invitation was open up to repent and come to faith in Christ Jesus the majority of the 75 attendees stood to their feet and began repenting out loud with their hearts and mouths. After a good long season of repentance we led them to faith in Jesus Christ dying on a cross for their sins.  What a joy to see so many in one service come to Christ and the joy and rejoicing that followed…HALLELUJAH!!!

Those Who Responded To Faith In Jesus Christ At The Brickyard

  WHAT IS THE PAKISTAN SITUATION AND CONDITION SPIRITUALLY

There are multitudes of churches in many different regions. They are somewhat nominal evangelical, maybe generally Baptist and Pentecostal. Mission work has been done here for the last 100 years. They conduct large evangelistic crusades in recent years in the larger cities generally preaching a health and wealth gospel.  Generally there is freedom of religion here, but it is more restricted in some cities than others. In March of this year there were two Christians burned alive in a brick yard incident (in the Raiwind region) and then there were also two churches bombed and 100’s were killed. Then also the Christians retaliated and killed some Muslims. Pray for the Pakistani Christians.
