From the very onset (birth) of MTM in August of 2008 the invitations to “come and help us” came our way from Bhutan, Myanmar, Malawi, Nigeria, Kenya (Africa), Pakistan as well as Egypt, Nepal & India. With the help of you, as our faithful supporters, we were able to accommodate some of them. Thank you.

As of 2019, MTM is 11 years young and the “come and help us disciple” invitations continue to Abundantly Abound primarily (but not exclusively) in the context of where 97% of the gospel unreached people groups are geographically situated. That is within the countries of India, Nepal, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam.

MTM FOCUSING ON THE FOCUSED – 3-5 day conferences

Therefore, in 2019 going into 2020, MTM is focusing on making disciples of ALL NATIONS within the context of the world’s HIGHEST concentrations of Gospel UNREACHED people groups which is ASIA. Of the 7.2 BILLION souls on the globe today, 2.90 Billion or approximately 3,000 unreached people groups have never heard the Name of JESUS one single time.

THEY ARE WAITING TO HEAR THE GOOD NEWS OF SALVATION IN JESUS NAME

Truly MTM is FACING the GREAT harvest by teaching & training native Christians in the “all things of our Lord Jesus Christ” as a means of empowering them to reach their own unreached tribes & peoples within the CONTEXT of the GLOBAL Unreached.

MTM continues to facilitate pastoral & youth conferences in strategic regions of Asia. Also, on a number of occasions conduct Christian marriage & Family conferences as well.

But, the current events of MTM is what I am terming as FOCUSING on the FOCUSED TRAININGS. As MTM worked with focused high-profile Native pastors & leaders, here is what they said; “The yearly conferences are such an encouragement and empowerment to our pastors, evangelist & men of leadership…but we want more EXTENDED DEEPER TEACHING. We love your FAITH & PRACTICE, Please teach us from the WORD what makes you who you are in Christ Jesus”. Thus, the three-week Bible school concept was birthed.

MTM three-week Bible schools consist of three different teachers teaching three different Bible books/topics for the full three-week period. Students come from many different regions of the country(s) and remain there for the full three weeks. Followed by a graduation and commencement celebration in completion.

MTM FOCUSING ON THE FOCUSED – Three Week Bible Schools

Therefore, as of 2019, MTM has commenced 5 three-week DEEPER TEACHING BIBLE SCHOOLS PRIMARILY FOR MEN …who are able to teach others also (II TIMOTHY 2:2). Most of them (but not all) have become annual events and especially in INDIA, we have a waiting list for Men to enroll. Blessed be God!!!

Your support last year to MTM exposed hundreds of native leaders in South East Asia to Christ-centered Bible teaching that encouraged them to reach their own unreached for Christ. These leadership conferences were conducted for Pastors, Deacons, Evangelists, Youth, Educators, Missionaries, Churches, Bible Seminaries & Colleges.

THANK YOU & CLICK HERE to SUPPORT MTM

Recently at the close of an MTM Leadership Conference, a native pastor from a remote area said, “Before, we only heard…now, we understand!” To God be the Glory!

A big special thank you to all who support this ministry as individuals, families, churches, guest teachers, and prayer warriors. May God richly bless you!

Jesus said in John 4:35, “Do you not say, there are still four months and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest”!

THANK YOU FOR BEHOLDING WITH US THE HARVEST, FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!!

I can only testify to God’s great faithfulness, love and compassion upon ALL of His People. Hallelujah and Amen would be the cry of my heart today as I reflect back on this amazing experience of worshipping, praying, leading, teaching, and crying with these godly men and women. I believe all of our team would echo my sentiments that God not only answers prayer, but He provides exceedingly abundantly above all that we might ask or think. The power of the presence of our Holy God was noticeably present as we lived, loved, learned, and taught among this wonderful group of people.

Gulariya, Nepal. Nov. 11 – 15, 2019

Jai Mashi! Jai Mashi! This is the heartfelt greeting among Christians in Nepal. They give honor and praise to Jesus when they meet and part because of thankfulness to be set free from the bondage of darkness! Shrines and idols more numerous than coffee shops in the USA surround them. Having experienced the emptiness of idolatry they love the living God. Yet with that love comes a deep hunger to know Him more intimately and to understand His ways. I am deeply blessed to have spent time with them and share what I have been taught from my youth. When I shared my personal story, our brokenness connected us as sisters in the Lord. These beautiful, precious ladies responded with humility and many expressions of wanting to change. I was so encouraged by their understanding, patience, compassion and kindness. May God continue to raise up a vibrant, powerful church in Bardiya, Nepal!

The above article was written by Sister Nanette Miller from Sandpoint, Idaho. Nanette served alongside her late husband, Rod, as a deacon for many years. Nanette served as a guest teacher to the Nepali women in this Leadership Conference. MTM is very grateful for this rare opportunity to bring hope and blessing to over 120 women. We thank God for Nanette, and for ALL who partner with this ministry!

Our team consisted of myself, Chris, my wife Bethany, son Conner, and daughter Kelsi Miller from Modesto, California, and Nanette Miller from Sand Point, Idaho. We joined up with Merle and Judith Flory from Ellensburg, Washington, at their current residence in Chiang Mia, Thailand. The seven of us were then joined by Rina Dotel who is a native of Kathmandu, Nepal, and Pastor Ishwar and his wife Chandika also from the Kathmandu area, in Kathmandu. The ten of us spent much time together, and great bonds of friendship and love were formed between people that have little in common in this world, but everything in common in our relationship with Jesus Christ, and the love that brings for others.

Merle began the first session of the conference with a series about God’s proper order for headship, marriage, and family. He had very focused and intentional teaching throughout the week specifically for pastors, fathers, and men. He then followed up focused on women, mothers, and marriage, with everything in it’s proper relation of headship. It was truly an inspiration to learn from this man of God and to feel the burden and the passion he has that all might understand the blessings and benefits of doing things God’s way.

Merle and I took turns with each teaching session. There were two one-and-a-half our sessions in the mornings and two in the afternoons. One session on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday was segregated with Nanette teaching the women about what it means to be a woman of God who is pleasing to the Lord, and with me teaching the men in large tent outside the church.

For our family there will never be another experience like our trip to a small village in southwest Nepal. To say that there will always be a piece of our hearts among these believers would be a gross understatement. We can only say thank you to our great God who faithfully fulfilled every need, and to all who were involved in the organization of this conference and those who made it happen.

Four years ago MTM (Macedonian Teaching Ministry) had started a short-term Bible School in the state of Odisha (India) which later on named as Odisha Bible School (OBS). It is being organized by a local committee, formed by MTM to operate and organize the OBS every year. Each year 30 to 35 students are attending the Bible school. Odisha Bible School (OBS) conducts three weeks training course and each year 30 to 35 evangelists, pastors, leaders those who are mostly untrained attend the same.

This OBS training course is mainly designed by the MTM director Pastor Raymond Burkholder, with a sole purpose and burden for the untrained Pastors and Evangelists of Odisha state. The teachings are so deep and heart touching and also well designed and very systematic. The OBS graduates are the real testimony to it as well as there is a huge demand to join OBS. Most of the trainees live in remote village area, most are never received any formal Bible training. So, we are trying to bring as many as possible to OBS every year, so that they may equip themselves and they may also teach others in their community, Churches, elders, deacons etc. We are getting many phone calls from many others, who have never had the opportunity to attend OBS.

100% of our graduates are blessed through OBS.

MTM has brought an ample, phenomenal and great opportunity for these untrained Pastors / Evangelists to come, learn, get equipped. As years passed by, many are now showing their interest and eagerness to attend & learn more from the word of God as they do not have the opportunity and resources to equip themselves. The OBS has providing them good & an excellent teachings in a beautiful atmosphere providing spiritual food to nourish their spiritual life and also good physical food during the three weeks Bible School. As part of our 3-week Bible school, OBS have a one-day special outing program for recreation and fellowship, out of class room learning.

Binary Bardhan, is sitting in the back on the far left (on the arm of the sofa) his wife is next to him.

On behalf of the all the trainees and the OBS Committee would like to extend their heart felt gratitude for providing this wonderful opportunity for our native untrained Pastors, elders, Church Leaders, and also the believers. So grateful and thankful to Pastor Raymond Burkholder, the supporters, and prayer worriers for their sincere prayers and the generous support in this mission and work of MTM. It is because of you all, we are blessed and the Gospel could reach to the unreached, and bring smile on their faces. Especially we OBS committee would like to extend our gratitude for your generosity and prayer support.

May the Lord continue to shower His blessings and make you channel of blessings to the ends of the earth.

Having had very little idea of what to expect of the pastors conference in Taunggyi, Myanmar, I had one recurring prayer: “Lord, please empty me of self that there may be room in my heart for a full measure of Yourself”. God has answered this prayer, and we have been filled with countless blessings as we fellowshipped with our brothers and sisters of Myanmar.

Before we even landed in Yangon, we began to see the idol temples of false religion in this land. Every day we were confronted with the reality of darkness & deception, and yet, as a moth is drawn to light, so also were these people drawn to the Gospel. The contrast of our living God against the backdrop of the dead, heathen gods of the land was a vivid reminder of Jesus’ words, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few”.

It was in this context that we met for four days at the home of Pastor Noah Blessing, along with his brother, Stephen Blessing, the evangelist (and our faithful interpreter), to teach and equip about 80 believers, near & around Taunggyi, to go into the fields of ripe souls to share the love of Jesus.

Brother Merle Flory taught on the headship order for Christ’s church as Jesus Himself was the example of how husbands should love their wives just as He loved His church, and the women should come under this Biblical headship model of authority. It was beautiful to see the Spirit at work to blend Brother Merle’s message with my teaching on Christ’s model for kingdom living, as taught in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5, 6 & 7).

It was truly inspiring and humbling to see the hunger among the believers there as God would fill us all with the practical life applications of His Word. So humbling to see God at work as, men and women alike, would come forward in confession and joy as a result of the Spirit’s work among them. We saw public confession of new faith in Christ among some visitors who willingly renounced Buddha and promised to live faithful to Jesus. Most notable was their joy in worship, contentment with God’s provision in spite of lack materially, faith in the midst of trials, and a vision for what God can and will do in their villages with the light of the Gospel. I feel as though I have received much more than I have given and come home more responsible for what I have received. I echo Jesus’ words to His disciples: “Pray ye therefore the LORD of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest”.

The time is right, the fields are white, there’s work to do before the night…who will go?

Editor’s Note: The following article was written by Brother Ben Huffman, who lives near Modesto, California where he serves as a minister in the West Modesto Congregation. Ben served as the MTM guest teacher during the Taunggyi Leadership conference in Myanmar, Oct 14-17, 2019. We thank God, the Huffman’s, and all those who supported and prayed for this conference. The partnership between MTM and Bible teachers from North America, is a blessed gift from God. Thanks to all of you who faithfully support this ministry by praying, preaching, and giving.

A special thank you to all who prayerfully and financially support MTM!

Macedonian Teaching Ministry (MTM) was requested to come to HBCS & preach & teach their annual spiritual enrichment week for the 42 enrolled students. Raymond taught a series from the first three chapters of the book of 1 Corinthians. He was teaching on the differences in this world’s wisdom and God’s wisdom through the cross. Reminding students not to trust in their education and the certificate they will get for ministry but in the power of the cross of Jesus Christ. I taught one series on the treasure hidden in a field and one that I entitled the “The Path to Power.” I used the example of the path Jesus took in Philippians chapter 2 and how we too must take the same path to be victorious in our Christian life and effective in ministry. It was amazing how Raymond’s and my messages overlapped throughout the week.

We had a very attentive group of about 40 students from all over the 29 different states of India. Most of them have visions of going back to their home regions and getting involved in planting churches and various other ministries. It really gave me a burden and a sense of urgency when I thought about the possibility of igniting firebrands for the gospel and casting them all over the different regions of India.

As I write this, we are traveling back toward home, our hearts full of memories. My first visit to India has proven to be a delightful mix of meeting Christian brothers and sisters and seeing the land of India through first-time tourist eyes. It is a land full of color, beauty, Hinduism, and cattle. We drive fast, listening to a cacophony of horns while dodging the occasional cow. I find my heart is swelled with gratefulness to God for this opportunity. Meeting brothers and sisters in Christ in other parts of the world is such a blessing. Yes, hopefully we encouraged them, but the believers here in India have encouraged me. Their sincere hearts for God, and their willingness to use that energy for God has blessed my heart. God has used this week to encourage me.

During this week, we had the privilege of listening to Brother Raymond share lessons from the life of Joseph. We learned that God was preparing Joseph to be a life-giver. Joseph kept his heart pure before God, and God could use him. I was able to share from the book of Hebrews. The Holy Spirit was faithful and revealed to us words of life from the Bible. The brothers and sisters here were so accommodating, caring for us and expressing their appreciation for our efforts in sharing the word of God with them.

I leave with a sadness, aware that I will likely never see many of these dear brothers and sisters again. I am aware that their Christian testimony is much needed in India, and they will likely endure testing—possibly severe. Brother Raymond shared how Joseph’s perspective on life, and even his ability to forgive, was rooted in his understanding of the sovereignty of God. I pray that God, in his sovereignty, will continue the good work that he is doing in each of our hearts. Praise the Lord and may the name of Jesus be exalted!

Editor’s Note: Phil has served as a deacon at Millmont Mennonite Church and was a school teacher at the Shady Grove Christian school for about 10 years. In March of 2017, their family moved from Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania (USA) to Chiang Mai, Thailand to help with the English Teaching ministry called INVEST. MTM and INVEST are ministries of IGO.

First of all, we thank God for the numerous answered prayers many of you offered on our behalf as we traversed the beautiful country of Cambodia sharing God’s word along with Merle and Judy. Our 17 days in Cambodia took us over 1300 Kilometers (800 miles) by van, 2 separate flights by airline visiting 4 different churches each with 2-day conferences. Our first conference was at a native Mennonite church where we enjoyed their warm hospitality and fellowshipping among them. We also returned there the following weekend for church services and fellowship with Allen and Melody Helmuth who are American missionaries.

There are several things we observed that I hope will stay with us as we travel back to America.

Increased appetites. While the food supply can be limited for most of the native people, it seemed to have little effect on the spiritual appetite of the Christians here. While the conferences might have been primarily for the church leaders, each conference was attended by several youth and other interested learners. They sat through 12 or more hours over 2 days in sweaty churches alert and attentive eagerly listening to the Word that was being taught on becoming fruitful to God in their personal, church, marriage and family life.

Expectations diminished. In America we have come to expect good selection of food, excellent service, climate-controlled churches, comfortable beds, clean restrooms and smooth roads. When these are not met, we tend to complain or adjust by affordable choices. In a foreign country we think little of hot sweaty churches, poor food selection or service, hard beds, chirping creatures in our rooms, dirty restrooms and rough roads. One evening on the road, fast food consisted of dry noodles with chicken and added hot water. I wonder how much happier we could all be if our expectations were lower and our gratefulness was greater in the land in which we live. One highlight was our visit by boat to a small fishing village where all the houses (shacks) are built on stilts about 20 feet up in the air. We took a boat because for several months out of the year it is flooded with water. We visited the home of a Mennonite widow who was very content with her bamboo mat and hammock for furniture and seemed unconcerned about the rat on the rafter. Her only request was for more teachers who would come and share the gospel in her village.

During rainy season, the water floods the road to this fishing village where ALO drills wells and holds church services and Bible studies regularly. We rode a long tail boat 15 minutes to the flooded village.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW FULL PHOTO ALBUM!!

Lingering images:

Of the joy that radiated from the Mennonite widows face… in spite of her circumstances…

Of the tears that flowed down a pastor’s face as he was reeling from the recent devastating news that his wife had left him and his 3-year-old daughter for another man…

Of the humble repentance as many fell on their knees before God as they committed to a more dedicated life and holier marriage relationships…

The quizzical curious look on our taxi drivers face as he said “Jesus? No, I never heard of Him”…

The lost woman who was bowing down before an idol with incense in her hand, hoping to appease the gods and to give her blessing…

Then I ponder:

Why was I born in America where I have heard the gospel?

Will I have lower expectations and a more grateful heart for the blessings I do have?

What will I do with the Gospel in my own community?

Editor’s Note: The above article was written by Sam Wray, MTM guest teacher from Sandpoint, Idaho.
The MTM vision of teaching faithful men who will be able to teach others also resonates in my heart in a greater way after the Odisha Bible School in India the last 3 weeks. I was extremely blessed to be a part of this year’s Bible School here in the state of Odisha. There were 31 men here for this Bible School; along with the 4 dear pastors who organize and make it all happen.

This is the 4th year for this yearly Bible School and my first time here. I will be leaving part of my heart as we start our long journey back to PA in just a few hours. Many of the men are pastors and church leaders. Others were seriously minded men who the four pastors/organizers handpicked to come. There was a good variety of ages with several older men, the oldest being 64, and young men in their 20s. God was plowing on many of their hearts throughout our time here. We saw many tears and heard many testimonies of things God was revealing to them from the 1st day of class to the last. What a blessing it was to be a part of what God was doing these many days in those dear brothers’ lives. There is really nothing that compares to being co-laborers with Christ in this way.

Dear brother Saroj wept often as he is dealing with losing everything due to his choice to follow Jesus Christ. He has lost his dominant successful business, his wife left him & his children also forsook him…it has cost him everything to follow Jesus Christ …which ultimately is Gods call for all of us????

I was also a co-laborer with Pastor Raymond Burkholder and Pastor Orval Graybill. We each had a 1½ hour class per day taught through a translator. My topic I titled, “Lessons From the Kings.” I began with the foundation of God being Israel’s King, prior to Saul, but the Israelites wanted a man as king so they could be like all the other nations of the world. I built upon that foundation by preparing a 16-foot-long time line, that my wife and I made, starting from Saul thru all the kings of Israel and Judah and ending with the KING of kings and the LORD of lords. Time did not allow me to get through all the kings but hopefully I whetted their appetites for study on their own. I used events in the kings’ lives to make practical applications for the people of God today.

Pastor Orval went through the book of 1st Timothy expounding on Paul’s letter to Timothy, the elder to the younger. And Pastor Raymond’s class was titled, “Profiles of Faith and Folly from the book of Genesis.” He compared the faith of Abraham and the folly of Lot, the faith of Jacob and the folly of Esau, and the faith of Joseph and the folly of his brothers. The three topics seemed to blend together very well. To GOD be the glory.

The MTM teaching team: Orval & Jean Graybill & their daughter Glenda, Steve Clark, Keishon Burkholder, Raymond & Naomi Burkholder.
Please remember the Christians in India in your prayers, as it is getting increasingly difficult to be a real Christian without going to prison. They are experiencing a real political climate that separates the doer from the hearer, the hot from the lukewarm, and the wheat from the tares. Pray that they would be “wise as separates and harmless as doves.” And pray that God will fight for them, as He did for the kings of Israel and Judah when they cried out to HIM for HIS help against impossible situations.

Editor’s Note; Steve Clark is one of the pastors at Joy Christian Fellowship in Ephrata PA. Steve and his wife Debby were both born and raised in the Seattle, WA area and were both from non-Christian homes. They have had an interesting walk of faith from the time of conversion through some Protestant churches to where they are at now. They served in Ghana West Africa for six years with Charity Missions. Steve is also the board chairman for All-Nations Bible Translation and Debby is a home birth mid-wife. Debby was not able to come on this trip to India because of a grand baby due over the time. May the Lord reward you openly for your labor of love among all the OBS students. Thank you & blessings to the max.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Testimony from Pastor Orval Graybill

I was blessed to have been part of the three-week Bible school at Odisha, India. I served as a guest teacher and ministered from my pastoral experience from the book of first Timothy. I rejoiced to see young men, some pastors, and older men wanting to serve God in a pastoral role. The many questions they asked me told me that they were listening attentively. There were many new commitments made during those three weeks. I rejoice to know that God’s word will not return void but will accomplish that which I please. If you want to be stretched there is a need for mature men to be involved in kingdom work in Asia through MTM. Praise His Name!

Editor’s Note; Orval Graybill is pastor at Susquehanna Mennonite Church, which is part of the Keystone Mennonite Fellowship. Orval has served as pastor for over 40 years. Orval, his wife Jean, & his daughter Glenda, were blessed to be able to serve the men at Odisha Bible school. May the Lord richly bless you and reward you openly for preaching the Word of God and sharing from your many years of pastoral experience. Thank You.

India… a land one third the size of the United States, yet has four times the population. A country half way around the world from many of us, yet close to our hearts. A place where most of the people have never heard the name of Jesus, not even once. Where idol worship is seen everywhere, where little by little Jesus is being introduced by faithful brothers and sisters.

Recently I had the blessed privilege of spending time with dear brother Raymond Burkholder and his wife Naomi and grandson Keishon in Siliguri, India.

Brother Raymond and sister Naomi walked away from a prosperous life in Lancaster County Pa, to spent and be spent in God’s work in India. His passion is to teach the all things about Jesus. Especially to know him and make him known. Our hearts were united as we realized that we carried the same burdens. To carry out the great commission in the uttermost parts of the earth. All for Jesus.

It was a life changing experience to be part of MTM’s teaching ministry for a week. Pastors, and pastors in training met daily to hear the word of God expounded, and the call to evangelize their own people was well received. As God touched my heart, and I realized that I am in the most unreached area of the world, I wept. Truly, the fields are white to harvest.

Brother Raymond and I spoke to about 60 or more pastors and youth with a desire to minister and present Jesus to their own people. Each day for 5 days we labored to teach them the all things. Our theme was ; “Know him then make him known”.

It was warm, very warm.. but God gave us strength to labor on. To see the eager faces drinking in the bread of life was empowering. It was exciting to think of what God can do with faithful believers who know him… and then go and make him known.

The vision that MTM has, to enable the local people to reach their own with the gospel, is near to my heart, and more important, I believe it is Gods heart.

We are praying that God would direct and put a burden on the hearts of teachers to go and show lost souls the transforming power of Jesus. The fields are ripe to harvest. The Macedonian call comes from all over the country. Who will go?

Is it fair for us to hear about Jesus twice until all have heard about him at least once.. As God touched my heart… I wept for lost souls. I still do.

The parting words of Jesus ( to all those that believe) as he left this earth..

“All Power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world”. Amen.

Editor’s Note: Pastor John Weaver is one of six elders at Cleveland Believers Fellowship, in Cleveland, NC. His calling has always been Missions, mostly in the country of Honduras, where he serves as chairman of the board for, Christian Light Missions. He and his wife alternate between living in Honduras and North Carolina. Spending about 3 month at a time in each place. Where many missionaries focus on making converts, ( which is very important) Pastor John likes to focus on taking the converts and making disciples for Jesus. Disciples who can go and make more disciples and therefore fulfilling that great commission that Jesus gave. May the Lamb that was slain, receive the reward of his suffering. Amen.
