Koribari, INDIA – September, 2 – 6, 2019
India… a land one third the size of the United States, yet has four times the population. A country half way around the world from many of us, yet close to our hearts. A place where most of the people have never heard the name of Jesus, not even once. Where idol worship is seen everywhere, where little by little Jesus is being introduced by faithful brothers and sisters.
Recently I had the blessed privilege of spending time with dear brother Raymond Burkholder and his wife Naomi and grandson Keishon in Siliguri, India.

Brother Raymond and sister Naomi walked away from a prosperous life in Lancaster County Pa, to spent and be spent in God’s work in India. His passion is to teach the all things about Jesus. Especially to know him and make him known. Our hearts were united as we realized that we carried the same burdens. To carry out the great commission in the uttermost parts of the earth. All for Jesus.
It was a life changing experience to be part of MTM’s teaching ministry for a week. Pastors, and pastors in training met daily to hear the word of God expounded, and the call to evangelize their own people was well received. As God touched my heart, and I realized that I am in the most unreached area of the world, I wept. Truly, the fields are white to harvest.
Brother Raymond and I spoke to about 60 or more pastors and youth with a desire to minister and present Jesus to their own people. Each day for 5 days we labored to teach them the all things. Our theme was ; “Know him then make him known”.
It was warm, very warm.. but God gave us strength to labor on. To see the eager faces drinking in the bread of life was empowering. It was exciting to think of what God can do with faithful believers who know him… and then go and make him known.

The vision that MTM has, to enable the local people to reach their own with the gospel, is near to my heart, and more important, I believe it is Gods heart.
We are praying that God would direct and put a burden on the hearts of teachers to go and show lost souls the transforming power of Jesus. The fields are ripe to harvest. The Macedonian call comes from all over the country. Who will go?
Is it fair for us to hear about Jesus twice until all have heard about him at least once.. As God touched my heart… I wept for lost souls. I still do.
The parting words of Jesus ( to all those that believe) as he left this earth..
“All Power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world”. Amen.
Editor’s Note: Pastor John Weaver is one of six elders at Cleveland Believers Fellowship, in Cleveland, NC. His calling has always been Missions, mostly in the country of Honduras, where he serves as chairman of the board for, Christian Light Missions. He and his wife alternate between living in Honduras and North Carolina. Spending about 3 month at a time in each place. Where many missionaries focus on making converts, ( which is very important) Pastor John likes to focus on taking the converts and making disciples for Jesus. Disciples who can go and make more disciples and therefore fulfilling that great commission that Jesus gave. May the Lamb that was slain, receive the reward of his suffering. Amen.
