MTM has worked with a group of Odisha brethren hosting an annual pastoral conference for the past 7 years in many different regions of Odisha state of India. In the process of time this group of brethren began to request for a deeper and more extended Bible teaching event to train and equip pastors and emerging leaders for evangelism and church leadership. This has resulted in the first MTM Odisha Bible School (OBS) to commence February 8-26, 2016 in Bhubaneswar/Cuttack region of Odisha State of India. Odisha state of India is most often labeled as the darkest state to the gospel in all of India.
Where Is Odisha (formerly Orissa) State Of India
MTM will be offering three subjects for three weeks hosted by three MTM teachers to the anticipated 30 attendees. The OBS teachers are Melvin Kauffman from Mbeya, Tanzania, John D Martin from Chambersburg, PA and Raymond Burkholder (MTM director).
Specific Prayer Requests for OBS
- That God will show Himself strong during this three-week event, to both the Church and the gospel unreached in Odisha state of India and beyond.
- Safety for the 30 OBS students traveling through various regions of India.
- For OBS teachers to rightly divide the Word of Truth cross culturally
- For God to give our MTM team daily health, and divine protection day and night
- For the native interpreters to have the gift of tongues as they translate the lessons
- For the OBS committee, as they give direction and leadership to the Bible School
- That the worthy slain Lamb of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, would be exalted in every teaching session
